Just because this blog is called Backwards Life doesn’t mean I like my stuff out of order. If you know anything about me you know that I’m a teensy bit OCD-ish (I actually think I have Obsessive Compulsive Personality issues). I used to organize people’s lives for a living! I’m that weirdo that moves furniture around for no good reason. I like to clean and sort and file.
Ever since having a baby, ummm three years ago, I’ve been a little out of sorts. There was a time last year that I FINALLY felt like the old me. I was back in school, scheduling appointments, writing papers….all with ease and on time! Then I got pregnant again. My brain fell out of my head and all my hard work back out the window.
This time around, after the pregnancy brain fog wears off, I’m determined to get back into the swing of things faster. Since my old tricks (mostly digital in nature) failed me last time, I thought I’d try something new. A paper organizer like I used to have back in the olden days, but this time I wanted something pretty. I also wanted something that I could leave out for friends and family that happen to come by to help us after the baby comes.
Enter the momAgenda! It’s beauiful and I just spent a good hour adding all my upcoming appointments to it. I wanted to set something up so anyone that needed to could look at our appointments for the week, see upcoming plans for the kids, and had access to all the important contact information concerning our family.
I had a Groupon deal for this awesomely popular desktop organizer so I bought two! One for me to use and one to share. I want to share it with you! This is NOT a sponsored post, this is just me wanting to celebrate my readers with some fun and a prize. Free stuff is always fun!

I am trying to organize things in my life this year by getting rid of excess things in my life – mostly material things we don’t have a use for, but I think you know the drill

I would love to win one of these : ) When we move into the new house I plan on putting a white board in the kitchen pantry so I can write what we’re having for dinner and whatever is planed for that week. I started using one in the old house and loved doing it. But the MomAgenda could help me plan for the several weeks ahead and keep notes for upcoming school events. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
I just tweeted about this giveaway : ) And will be doing so everyday…

Just kidding. You know I love you! I am planning on starting a schedule- of yoga time, writing time, etc. and making Rob share in evening duties (bath, bedtime, etc) so that I have time alone to do said yoga & writing!

I have no sweet clue how to get organized, but I suspect having fancy stationary supplies such as this just might motivate me!!!
I totally thought I alread liked you on FB, but I didn’t, because I’m lame, so now I did, because you told me to.

Neat idea Amber! I have a hanging office calendar that I stuck on the fridge with a 3M hanger. This way I can’t miss it and I know I will look at it several times a day. It helps me keep track of Ortho appts, baseball & basketball practice, games & band concerts…to name a few. LOL!
With a husband on shift work and working 2 days a week we NEED to be organized !
I have little post-it notes stuck everywhere… Life with two kids is crazy! Lol

Planners give me an organization boner.
I shared my boner on twitter.
Organizing… I love it. The kids’ toys have been organized with cubbies and fabric bins and baskets for quite a while. The latest has been juggling the hubbies regular work with side work with all of the kids activities and our family obligations. We’ve gone techie and linked calendars on our phones but are thinking about a giant white board in the kitchen just to help us visualize things more.
I am an office manager. I am active in church projects; and, I am a member of the Hodges Historical Committee. I definitely need to keep organized.
PS…LOVE the blog and I am subscribed!
I’m…not trying to be organized. Is that bad? I just realized that I will never EVER have everything as “together” as I would like. I make little notes to myself in a journal and put things on the big calendar on the fridge, and I don’t lose important papers, but that’s about the extent of my organization.

I am trying to get organized by not letting stuff pile up, and putting it away immediately. This is HUGE in terms of keeping my desk clean.

And I follow you on facebook! Wheeeeeee!!!!
I really do WANT to be organized….for me it’s baby steps. My wonderful, talented ORGANIZED step-daughter would be so proud to know just how much stuff I got rid of this year through donations. And I don’t think she’s seen my closet organizer yet…where I actually HUNG my clothes!!
I always say I am going to get organized but just never find the time. I hope I will get some time once I finish grad school!
I’ll get organized by planning, planning, planning!
Giving stuff away. Trying to simplify! (It never works)! xoxo
Super excited I can follow you on twitter now! Gotta go add you now.
I love reading your articles. I don’t have kids ( or plan on it) but I like telling my friends tips and tricks about raising theirs. * im kidding* no i’m not.
I do like to organize on paper though. Phones die and computers crash.
Love u Amber!
I’m a work in progress! I have a bulletin board in the kitchen to keep important notes and dates in sight. Problem is, it’s a disaster, filled with so many papers I can’t find the forest for the trees!
Somebody help me!
I’m always trying to get more organized (and not very well right now). I have to write all of my appointments and tasks down, or else they will most likely be forgotten with the craziness of everyday life. Also, my apartment is super small, so good organization is key (although you would be mortified if you saw the mess that is my place at the moment). Velvet hangers in my closet save space, I put my shoes on a hanger on one of my doors, and I use just about every square inch of my kitchen for storage (I have these great shelf platforms I got from IKEA that allows me to stack plates or cups without hassle).
