HA….yeah Alexa’s Summer camp schedule has wiped us all out. I haven’t seen a single friend this summer unless it’s been at a weekend party (and are weekends are always booked up too far in advance).
During the week I’m relegated to my house with an infant who will. not. nap. while we wait until time to pick up the bigger kid. Once we’re home it’s a mad dash to eat lunch before someone’s blood sugar anger gets out of control. Then naps for all. Then dinner. Then bedtime. Then wake up tomorrow and do it all again.
Suffice to say I’m looking forward for this 6 week stint of day camp to be over. I’m SOOOOO happy we were able to give Alexa the opportunity to do this though. She’s happy and playing and making friends. She’s making crafts and learning to be her own person away from us. It’s amazing to watch her grow up over just one summer but it’s exhausting.
At the end of July we’ll be done and then maybe I can see some of my own friends again during the week. Until then…wait for me will you? I promise I didn’t fall off the face of the Earth. I’m just trying to figure out how in the world to juggle schedules for a whole family.
**I totally know it’s only going to get worse as the kids get older and are BOTH involved in their own little worlds filled with activities, friends, and school. ACK! How do parents do it?
